Description
A savory blend of tender beef and vibrant broccoli coated in a flavorful sauce, perfect for a comforting homemade meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups fresh broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Marinate the beef. In a bowl, mix thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a splash of sesame oil. Let it soak up those flavors for at least 10 minutes.
- Prep your broccoli. Cut it into bite-sized pieces and blanch in boiling water for a minute; drain and shock it in ice water.
- Make the sauce. Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
- Stir-fry time! Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of oil, then the beef. Stir until browned and cooked through, then remove and set aside.
- Cook the broccoli. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and toss in garlic and ginger. Sauté until fragrant before adding broccoli.
- Bring it all together. Add beef back to the pan, pour sauce over, and stir-fry for a minute or two until heated through.
Notes
Best served hot over rice or noodles. Can add sesame seeds or green onions for garnish.
