- 4 Chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
- 1 medium Green cabbage, cut into wedges
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 1 Sweet onion, chopped
- 3 Fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups Chicken broth
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Herbs (Thyme or rosemary), to taste
Instructions
- Prep the chicken: Trim excess fat from the chicken thighs and season them well with salt and pepper.
- Sauté the onion: In a pan, melt a tablespoon of butter and sauté the onions until they’re fragrant and translucent.
- Layer in the slow cooker: Start with the cabbage at the bottom, then add the sautéed onions, garlic, and chicken on top.
- Add butter and broth: Dot the chicken with a few more tablespoons of butter, then pour in the chicken broth.
- Cook low and slow: Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes, or until the chicken is falling off the bone.
- Final touches: Adjust seasoning if needed, and sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
