- 1 package of puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into rectangles, about 3×4 inches each.
- Mix the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl until smooth.
- Spoon a little of the pumpkin mixture onto one half of each rectangle, then fold the other half over and pinch the edges to seal.
- Twist each piece gently, then place them on the baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg in a small bowl and brush it on each twist.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until they are puffed and golden brown.
- Allow them to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with whipped cream or caramel sauce. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
