Description
A comforting and sophisticated green bean casserole enriched with beef bacon, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 ounces beef bacon, diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mushroom soup (canned or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crispy fried onions, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the diced beef bacon over medium heat in a large skillet until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
- Add the green beans to the skillet with the hot fat and sauté for 2-3 minutes until bright green. Remove and set aside.
- Combine the heavy cream, mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Layer in a casserole dish: sautéed beans, half of the beef bacon, and half of the sauce mixture. Repeat the layers and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes, then remove and sprinkle crispy fried onions on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
For added texture, briefly blanch the green beans before layering. Adjust seasoning to your preference.
