Description

Quick and flavorful honey garlic shrimp that balances sweetness and umami, perfect for any dinner party or weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the shrimp: If using frozen shrimp, ensure they’re fully thawed and patted dry.
  2. Whisk the sauce: In a bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well-blended.
  3. Heat the oil: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once it’s hot, add the shrimp in a single layer.
  4. Sear the shrimp: Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they start turning pink.
  5. Add the sauce: Flip the shrimp over and pour the honey garlic sauce directly into the pan. Stir to coat all the shrimp.
  6. Cook through: Allow it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions before digging in.

Notes

Serve over rice or quinoa for best results. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
